Herd immunity reaches almost 90% in Japan

 

Following the seventh Omicron wave, areas with high number of cases in Japan have attained a herd immunity of around 90%. The peak was reached in August. However, this immunity may soon decline. No isolation now for inbound travelers in Taiwan

 

Taiwan has decided to reopen its borders to international travelers. From October 13, it has decided to end its requirement of mandatory quarantine for people coming into the country. Currently, all inbound travelers have to isolate for 3 days…(Source: Medscape, Sept. 29, 2022).

 

Community transmission level to guide mask recommendations now, says CDC

 

In its updated guidance for infection prevention and control for healthcare workers during the pandemic, the CDC recommends that HCWs can avoid wearing masks if they are in areas that are restricted to patients and community transmission is low. Canada quashes all Covid travel restrictions 

 

Canada has joined the list of countries that have lifted all Covid-19 restrictions for travelers. With effect from today, Canada has eased the vaccination and masking requirements for flights as well as trains.
